What to Expect at an Elite Helper Academy Workshop
Our workshops are warm, welcoming and wonderfully hands-on – because that is exactly how we hope your helper will be with the children in her care. Led by experienced early childhood educators, each session is designed specifically for domestic helpers: practical, friendly and delivered in clear, accessible English, with plenty of time for questions along the way.
We keep our groups deliberately small, so every helper receives personal attention, feels comfortable joining in, and leaves genuinely confident – not just informed. Rather than sitting through slides, helpers spend the session doing: setting up sensory play, practising activities, handling materials and trying techniques they can use at home the very next day.
Every workshop includes:
Expert-led, hands-on learning in a small, supportive group – no tests, no pressure, and no question too small
Practical activities and set-ups helpers practise on the day, using simple, affordable materials found in most homes
Take-home resources – activity ideas, guidance and inspiration to return to again and again
A Certificate of Attendance for your helper to keep – a lovely recognition of her learning and professionalism
A workshop outline provided to employers, so you know exactly what your helper has learned and can support it at home
Helpers consistently tell us the same thing afterwards: they arrive a little nervous and leave excited to get started. Many attend with friends – helpers are very welcome to book together – and employers often gift a workshop place as a thank you. However your helper arrives, she will leave feeling valued, capable and inspired.
Upcoming Workshop Dates
We are currently enjoying a short summer break – and busy planning a wonderful new season of workshops for the months ahead.
New dates will be announced here very soon, with sessions held at family-friendly venues across Hong Kong, occasionally on Sundays and public holidays so helpers can attend on their rest day and at times throughout the week arranged with their employer’s agreement. Places are limited to keep our groups small, and our workshops do fill quickly – so if there is a topic your helper would love, we warmly recommend joining the list below.
Be the first to know: subscribe to our newsletter or send us a message with the topics you are interested in, and we will contact you the moment new dates are released – including early-bird booking for our mailing list.

Workshop Topics We Cover
All of our workshops focus on early childhood development and play-based learning – giving helpers practical skills they can use with the children in their care straight away. Topics include:
Sensory Play for Babies & Toddlers – Sensory play activities that build language, focus and fine motor skills – with low-mess set-ups using everyday household items
Simple Arts & Crafts for Young Children – Age-appropriate creative activities, process art and craft ideas that nurture imagination, creativity and confidence
Understanding Child Development & Learning Through Play – What to expect at every age and stage from birth to five, and how to support development through everyday play, routines and responsive care
Bringing Home Baby & Newborn Care – Gentle, practical newborn care – settling, feeding support, tummy time, reading baby’s cues and creating calm early routines
Home Safety & Childproofing – Creating a safe home for curious babies and newly mobile toddlers – practical checks, set-ups and everyday awareness
Story Time & Reading with Children – Choosing the right books, reading aloud with confidence, and making story time a treasured daily habit
Play Spaces & Toy Rotation – Setting up inviting, efficient play spaces at home, rotating toys so they stay exciting, and encouraging happy independent play
We also run seasonal and special-topic sessions throughout the year, and the same topics are available as private group workshops or personalised in-home training. If there is a topic you would love us to cover, we would be delighted to hear from you – many of our workshops began as a family’s suggestion.
How to Book
Booking a place is simple – and both employers and helpers are welcome to book.
1. Choose your workshop – browse the upcoming dates above and pick the session that suits your helper best. Unsure which to choose? Message us and we will happily recommend one based on the ages of the children in her care.
2. Reserve your place – contact us via the booking link, email info@elitehelperacademy.com, or WhatsApp +852 9722 4223 with the workshop name, your helper’s name and your contact details. We will confirm availability straight away.
3. Complete payment – all workshop places are paid in full at the time of booking to reserve your helper’s spot. Payment details are provided with your confirmation.
4. Receive your email confirmation pack – we send everything you and your helper need: venue details, timings, what to bring (usually just a smile!) and the workshop outline for employers.
Good to know
Workshop places are prepaid and non-refundable; if plans change, we will always do our best to reschedule your helper onto another session with at least 48 hours’ notice (subject to presenter discretion and venue policies)
Group sizes are kept small, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
Helpers are welcome to book together with friends – learning is even lovelier in good company
A Certificate of Attendance is presented at the end of every workshop
Why are workshops for helpers only?
Our workshops and training sessions are designed for adults, and helpers attend without the children in their care. This is entirely intentional: it gives your helper the rare gift of uninterrupted time to listen, practise, ask questions and learn – free from the (very understandable!) distraction of caring for a little one at the same time. Everything she learns comes straight home to your child, where it belongs. If you are looking for sessions that include children, our sister company Elite Childcare Consulting offers private play-based learning classes for young children – we would be delighted to tell you more.
Hong Kong weather arrangements
We know that most helpers have children to care for, so our weather policy follows the Hong Kong Government and Education Bureau (EDB) guidance on school class cancellations – keeping things simple, predictable and safe for every family:
All workshops are cancelled when a Black Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) is in force
Workshops may also be cancelled when a Red Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3 is in force, depending on the day and conditions – we will always confirm with you as early as possible
Every cancelled workshop is rescheduled, and your helper’s place is automatically carried over to the new date – no fees are ever lost to the weather
Questions before booking? We are always happy to chat – call or WhatsApp +852 9722 4223, or email info@elitehelperacademy.com.
